What’s this all about?
Thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of programs claim to help people make money online. Court and I have decided to create a different kind of transparency and accountability for our program: we’ve set the goal to help 1,000 of our members reach $1,000 per month in online earnings by June of 2011.

Hi Court and Mark, brilliant idea. I just thought about it today that we should have some sort of tracking so we know where we stand. Maybe we could have a few more counters on there with $500 and $250 for inspirational purposes? I think that would be kind of cool. Maybe also how many members we currently have going for this? hi! this is a wonderful concept, but i think we need a tracking system to assess our growth! what do you have to say about it?
I agree with Simon – particularly for the slower amongst us who struggle to fit the writing in between work and family – some interim markers would be great.
Not only is this a great way to motivate people. But, it will also be a great learning experience. What works? What doesn’t work? Why didn’t it work? How quickly it will take one person to get to $1k versus someone using a slightly different strategy. Can’t wait to see the case studies that come from this challenge.
Last month, I had my first individual site break $1,000 per month. Looking forward to doing it again as part of your challange with a new site.
When I joined a year ago, i was only earning $400 per month, now I am earning 4-5 times as much.
I like the methodical and ‘no-shortcut’ approach of you guys. This will be a great challenge. I am in for sure. The counter above will turn once in my name.

would be even more interesting to see where starters get within one year. As described i think this counter includes people who have been doing IM for years and years, and started the year with $900 in earnings etc.

Yeah, I agree with the above. Having this open to absolutely anyone, even if they’ve been doing IM for years, has the feeling of juicing the stats a bit. I think more of the spirit of the 1k challenge is to see how many people can go from 0 – 1000 in a year.
But regardless, I’d love to hear more from the folks that are at these earnings levels. Maybe you could give them just a few questions regarding their process, what has been the biggest help for them, etc. For someone struggling to even get $10 a month, it would be a big motivational tool.
I got to say this is a brilliant idea and a huge help for everyone that wants to make money on the internet. Hope many newbies will take this opportunity serious and get their gears up for the challenge.

I am not a payed member any more but i maybe i want to be again. But thats not why i am writing thise comment. I was member for 3 monthes and in those 3 momentsi learned enough to make a lot of money online in the month juli i made $5.728,80 and this month is going to be i bit less a round 4k but still.
If some needs to see the printscreens let me know so you can add 1 some how is makeing more then 1k a month because of you guys.

I would like to see the screen shot of the earnings. I only make 1-2% of that amount with putting in a ton of work. I own many quality domains, several blogs, and have written for many popular sites. I’m unable to get the results. Thanks.
The comments about juicing the stats is unfair. How much of a difference do they make in the grand scheme of things? It’s not like bam, the counter had 500 people already making 1k. Furthermore, even if they did, doesn’t it show the value of the program if people already making money are using the program? There are good tools in the program.
I made the counter turn once for me. When I joined, I wasn’t making a regular Google cheque… while I wasn’t at 0, I was damn close starting from scratch. I had prior IM technical knowledge but nothing was consistent. Now my income is safe and reliable.
The bottom line is, this is a ballsy challenge. What other program announces this in public and people are complaining about a handful of SAVVY IMers are upping the count? They should be jumping on the bandwagon and trying to figure out why they are using it and learn from them in the forum.
For the record, I was making well, well over $1,000 per month before I joined so I’m not included in the stats above. But there is tremendous value to this program even for experienced IMers. The tools alone are worth 5 times the price.
Having built hundreds of websites (some large and others simply 5 page sites) I have come ot understand just how powerful keywords can be in regards to the success of a website. It’s almost a direct relationship/correlation to the growth a site can achieve especially when you begin to make maximum use of the long tail keyword phrases which allow for first page rankings within the organic search engine results.

I will read and watch all the stuff before November 1 and will start making websites at that time.
I’m in it full time – 7 days a week, 12-15 hours a day, but some small vacations and slow days now and than.
The June 2011 $1K income goal is a nice minimum, I will aim for double that as a stretch goal.

For me this will be the epic challenge as I will start from 0 and I will go to $1k. I want to achieve it for myself. By going from 0 I meant that I do not have anything and I don’t know much about web pages and stuff. Probably I will have to be the hardest learner.

This challenge or goal provides a very defined impetus for all members to see and feel. Who would not want to earn at least $1K a month? That is my goal too…
I was a member once, i saw the content, it is quite easy even for new people who dont have much knowledge. Everything is given step by step, from how to setup a site, how to reasearch, write posts, build links everything !
However I didn’t put that knowledge to good use. I just stuck with my old blog that was making a few hunder $ a month. But I had a new other small startup, then it dawned on me that the small startup were doing quite well and decided to visit this place again.
I hope to join again and continue my membership, this time making sure that I actually put the knowledge to good use. This post just gave me more motivation for that.
Oh btw forums are really good, any questions you have are answered quickly my other senior members and the tools.. that a different story
Many domain blog owners never share how to monetize a blog, or website. I own nearly 800 domains in all niches, with a heavy concentration in resume, jobs, and education domains. These are keyword domains that generate some revenue, but not enough to even consider it worthwhile.
I believe the high CPC domains that target fields such as mesothelioma, education, loans, insurance, and other popular niches are worth the time to monetize.
I found this blog by accident because I attempted to submit my site to Google. After reading your article on avoid submitting a site to Google, I realized that some of my old strategies actually worked.
I have many resume domains that are listed on Google Page #1, and these are sites I never submitted to Google. I don’t own earn nowhere near my goal. I’m confident I own some quality domains to experiment with your 1000 make $1000.
You have a really cool site. Keep up the good work. Domain blog owners will share their earnings, but will leave out the specifics to fully monetize a blog. However, there are a few good blogs that offers good steps, but nothing compare to this site.
