I was pondering about this for a while as well but I just carried on with this interpretation:

Unique articles are mechanically unique. It means that they may be about the same thing as three hundred articles as long as the phrases and words used don't pop up in other articles on the net. You may write the same article again just rephrase it.

Spun articles. The process above can be done through a program which uses synonyms for words. It usually results in utter crap articles that should not be used on any serious site. This is what Mark wrote the e-mail about.

I have read a lot about "unique" articles and the definition of that seems a little vague to me. Obviously, it could literally mean unique in that all content posted need be different than everything else. Now I have received mixed signals on rewritten articles as being unique. On the UAW video they tell you to rewrite two articles based on the original article and those are considered unique. Now I get an email saying that is spun material and shouldn't be used.

Basically, I am trying to understand how articles are supposed to be used and submitted.

Also, I don't completely understand the sublink(2nd link). I understand that one is pointed to the home page, but I thought the second link was supposed to be pointed to a "like/rewritten" version of the article submitted. If this is not the case then where should it be sent?

I don't want to mess up the system. I am just trying to know the rules of engagement so I don't get into any trouble.

On the video's they always had articles written and my assumptions of those articles seem to be wrong. I just want some clarification.

Thanks gang.

I think your logic is somewhat flawed. By the very nature of the TKA keyword formula you are attacking keywords that are easier to rank for.

If you go after keywords that have less $ potential but are easier to rank for you will have to put out more content to return the same amount of money.

Personally I go after the higher $ potential keywords, by writing (or outsourcing) content that contains related long tails(cousin keywords defined by TKA) with a few links you will start bringing in money prior to ranking for the highest potential keyword (while you link building is improving your rankings for the high potential word).

Well there is the conservative way to do things and there's the risky way. Since Google has already weighed in that they prefer in-content relevant links, it safe to say they'll be enforcing that preference over time.

While Option C may get quick results now, who's to say that in a year those links could be worth very little towards the overall value of your backlinks (aka you lose the link benefits you originally had). Option A is the safe way to go and you don't have to worry today or two years from now if your links will become worthless with that approach.

So far I have started 15 in 15 days. Now not all have been finished in content and in link building, but sites are built. I have not felt overwhelmed at all. It is just a matter of how many hours you can put into your sites. If you have the time to make 1, make one, if you have the time to make 10, make ten :D...

Disclaimer: This is advice from a guy who has not started the backlinking process for the majority of sites, so also take my word for what its worth :-)

3 is probably a safe number of supersites, as of niche sites... I don't really know. I find publishing 4-5000 words worth of articles a day challenging and I'm not familiar with the niche timeline, so I don't really know where it falls on that.

@Peter: Ah sorry, didn't notice your post. When TKA is down I basically can reach everything on my site but the admin interface. It either times out, or lets me in but I see 0's sprinkled around in the statistics. 0 posts, 0 pages 0 everything and it's a pain in the a to move around. Adding an X to the end of the plugin's directory name solves the problem but last time I forgot to reactivate it after reverting the directory name to the default.

Here is a question that's been on my mind lately. In my search for keywords I go for the highest potential green words. However, logic dictates that those words are more popular and therefore will have the most competition. That in turn will make it more difficult to rank in the search results. Therefore, is it more realistic to go after less popular, longer tail words with less potential profit but easier ranking? Because I plan to continue to outsource content, to me it's a matter of greatest return on the investment. I am sure you've considered this, how are you approaching it?

I keep finding good keywords and I get excited about the potential for each of them. I know a lot of this question is determined by amount of time to spend, but how many sites should I focus on to start with so that I don't get overwhelmed?

Doesn't really matter if they are on or off. If on use Akismet. Most niches that have green keywords are not very social.

Comments are free content, set them so you have to approve them and only approve those that make sense and have a benefit to your site(on topic, more than a couple words etc...). This leaves you in control what gets published.

I second what Casey said. I had the hardest time in the beginning finding greens. Once I started using Niche Refinery it opened the doors. Like Casey said, look around the rooms where you are, look at what you like to do, have, open the yellow pages of the phone book and then go to google keyword tool and load your findings into Niche Refinery. It will work. honest!

Are we supposed to leave comments turned on? Can the comments potentially affect the AdSens ads that are displayed? If it's OK to leave comments on, then I recommend using the Akismet plugin. This eliminates virtually all spam in comments.

But I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the comments issue. As you can see, I'm new here. Thx!

Go to the Google (G) Adwords tool and look around the room you are in and search for things in that room.

Wow elaborate post, I don't even know where to start to answer your borg-question-cube :D

First of all, I'm not able to speak with any kind of authority as of yet, but I'm writing articles about let's say personal space rockets.

First article goes along the lines of "Personal space rockets are a rather convenient way of traveling great distances between two distant locations."
Second article, which is sent to Eza for backlinks goes "A personal space rocket may cost a fortune, but there is no better or more comfortable way of closing a distance between your favorite locations in space." and then I just go on and make the exact same points I have in the first article.

C type posts are extremely easy to write, when I stumble upon a keyword I have slight interest in I have to forcefully wrap it up after 8-900 words, but I don't see how I would be able to target all my ramble posts at a specific keyword. Without keyword targeted posts Adsense blocks would be all over the place and would most probably result in $0.01 clicks.

First of all I'd like to say congratulations on the 2.87$ that is pretty awesome for your first day. Second I'd like to say welcome. I am not familiar with EWA. This is all I could find.

I'm not sure if they are a scam or legit. Just to keep things simple at this point in your journey I would probably ignore them. Having Amazon in your arsenal is a good thing. I haven't used linkshare but there are times when belonging to other affiliate networks can help round out your monetization. Between Google, Amazon, and Linkshare you should have more than enough affiliate offers to keep you busy.

@ Homey, thank you for the explanation.

@ Josh, thank you as well. I'm going to go through all the webinars again before building my next site. I was reaching high frustration levels not understanding what was being said, while at the same time trying to learn the design side of things...which was just as frustrating, and not being able to find green keywords. I read posts by people who find a ton of them, and I just don't get it. I guess everything I can think of is too popular and I'm not thinking creatively enough.

The reason for not doing it (adsense) on the first site was I picked a subject with keywords that could easily confuse an engine and the adsense that was getting put on the site was far and away from the topic of the site and affiliate's were the only way I could figure to target the audience a little better. Think game site with gardening ads. The articles and guides being focused on 'in-game' seemed to be taken literally by the engine and it just didn't apply at all.

I chose something a little out there because it was something I was familiar with and liked and knew and thought it would be a good test to see if I could even learn this or if I would like it (I do! A LOT!). It wasn't ever, in my mind, a good site for money making. Maybe a little, probably never a lot. More for learning and testing...though I am at the top of Google for a couple of my keywords, but very few people search them!

Now that's out of my system, though, and I'm understanding a little bit better what's being said (just a little bit!) and am definitely ready to start making some money! So, thank you for helping me to get my focus back to where it should be.

I'll leave that affiliate alone and focus on the *this* program to lay my groundwork.

@ Lissie, just saw your post. So that's two votes to quit messing around and go back to core videos. I will. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I've seen both of you quite a bit in the forum and have hung out a little on Lissie's blog. Thank you both, I'm in the presence of greatness. :-)

Is there any way of working out which adsense ads are showing on your page. For example i have written a content page targeting "elliptical fitness machines". How do i know if the adsense ads on that page are targeting "elliptical machines" "fitness machines "elliptical fitness" I know that google analyzes your page and determines which ad, but is there any way to check that your page is optimised for your target keyword? What if we are trying to target a high paying click keyword on the site but because of our content it actually shows an ad for a lower click through keyword?

thanks

Josh has it right. Stop reading other stuff for a month or 2 - read all that is here - starting with the core videos - you are paying to be here and this coures works - but it won't for you if you run off in different directions before learning one approach solidly. I too have never heard of EWA but I'm not a beginner, my advice would be to run, not walk from it and concentrate on the information here!

Rain Man on "SEO - In creating your backlinks paragraphs, how much do you scrutinize over you"

SEO - In creating your backlinks paragraphs, how much do you scrutinize over your backlink copy?

Thanks for reading.

Last month I did my first 'bulk submission' to Ezine articles of 57 articles -- so I've been thinking about this question a LOT lately.

(By the way, if you do Ezine, you really MUST do the bulk submission method. ezinearticles.com/bulksubmission -- it rocks).

Anyway, so here's my question:

"In creating your backlink content (e.g. for EzineArticles), how congruous do you make the article content, with the content of the website it's pointing back too?"

In other words, if your website is on Car Radio Installation, which paradigm do you do:

A.) I make a concerted effort to stay EXACTLY on topic--writing only on car radio installation.
B.) I just write any ol' article on cars or radios. I know if the keywords are there, that's enough.
C.) I just write an article about what I feel like writing that day. I don't care what the backlink text is nor the keywords.

Now when I first got into Article Marketing, I was only doing paradigm A A A A.

But then, when I read John's course, I realized he got his Adsense revenue up over 100,000 thousand a year all based on paradigm C.

When I learned of this fact, I was indeed a bit taken aback.

Now it has been proven again and again that backlinks nested in contextually congruous paragraphs are indeed the best (especially, as Matt Cutts has noted, if they appear higher on the page). So ultimately, I think it is still the case that paradigm A will indeed garner the greatest vector of "google juice" for the backlink.

However, after ALSO seeing paradigm C work so well, I can't help but start thinking:

"Geez it sure is easier to produce content on "relationship advice" than it is on "How to wire your new car radio".

So here are my thoughts:
===============================

1.) I mean, let's face it, the vast majority of us could all write 10 articles on relationships, in the time it took to write 1 article on car stereo radio wiring... So their is an obvious speed benefit in C.

2.) Another thing of note, I have recently noticed a direct correlation between how 'fun' the article title sounds, and how fast my copywriters are able to produce content. In other words, especially at textbroker.com, if you put a fun topic out there, it is often done within the hour. If you put a boring topic out there, it can two weeks.

3.) Another thing of note, A lot can be said for the power of so-called "link bait." In other words, non-nichey subjects on Ezine tend to garner more publications, and more searches. For example, there are more people searching for relationship advice on the internet, than there are searching for "car stereo installation tips". So, arguably, in writing a mildly interesting article on a 'human interest' such as this, you may find your Ezine article gets a broader organic presence, and hence, the document itself will have a better PageRank. Thus, the backlink will have more weight.

So the question again is:

"In creating your backlink content (e.g. for EzineArticles), how congruous do you make the article content, with the content of the website it's pointing back too?"

I would really LOVE to hear opinions about this. Lately I find that I seem to get the same results whether I do paradigm A OR B. I'm not gonna touch C for now. And John has indicated that he is moving away from C too.

But, can anyone please add to these thoughts? I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

p.s. note that I am not talking about content for pages in which you are a "guest poster", or on which you are asked to write as a "consultant", nor am I talking about content for pages like the KWA directory. Rather, i'm talking about ezine, goarticles, UAW, etc.

I don't fill it out every time on a couple of my bigger sites unless I have a green keyword post that I want to rank for, but on my niche sites I use it every time, It don't take me long to put in the information.

Hello folks,

Been meaning to ask for awhile. I know the question was asked last week about what tools do you use but I am just curios about what plugins everyone cannot live with out. I am currently only using the GPS plugin, analytics, SEO, and that is about it. I feel like am missing out on a bunch of other good functionality. Whata ya'll say?

I started with the highest potential keyword and worked my way down. I have 65 greens covered and backlinked with about 95-100 articles. No ranking or any adsense revenue after 3 weeks of hard work and 2 months of total site uptime. If this answer helps you at all ...

With the next supersite I'm going to start with the lowest competition keywords.

Pretty simple question. When you are building a supersite do you start with the highest or lowest potential first?

Thomas, no idea which one. it was at least 2 webinars ago.

Ronnie, Just answering the question as I heard it answered by Court. If you set the plugin up and fill in the title, description, keywords, etc, you are all set for a niche site. I think that is a heck of a lot better than not installing the plugin! A good argument can be made to fill it in on every post for a supersite, since the site is focusing on many keywords rather than one main keyword.

Hi Terri

I don't want to seem like I'm coming down on you or anything, but by your own admission you are a beginner at all of this, and you have chosen The Keyword Academy as the place that will guide you along the way (which is a very wise choice). However, you go on to talk about Linkshare, Amazon and EWA (which I know nothing about), and these are not what is taught in the core lessons.

You really are better off sticking with the program. Put Adsense on your site and start building links to it (look into GPS here - http://thekeywordacademy.com/coaching/gps-guidelines/ - it's an awesome tool provided by TKA). Don't even worry about all the affiliate programs on offer out there until you've got a steady stream of traffic, otherwise it just becomes another distraction.

There are a lot of acronyms thrown around here, but there are just as many people happy to explain them to you if you ask.
