The experiment took a lot longer to put together than expected. Sorry for the delay – I had to change a bunch of things so that I could track earnings. I had inserted Adsense code manually on the posts that were already on the site and getting that code out of a larger site was a big ordeal. Installing an ad manager to serve different ads on different posts was another ordeal but I didn’t want to make the problem worse by inserting one ad unit at a time.
I FINALLY have everything working in a way that will allow me to track earnings separately on the 100 blog posts and the experiment will start today! I’ll be updating you next Monday.

That’s great Court! I can’t wait to follow it and see how everything goes.
Hey Trent! I never asked if everything went smooth with the sale! I know that you were able to sell the site – did everything work out as planned?
Court,
What ad management program/plugin are you using? I have tried quite a few and can’t really find one that I like or that works best…
Thanks!
I’m actually using the Advertising Manager plugin from OpenX: http://code.openx.org/projects/show/advertising-manager
There are some things I don’t like about it, but I needed to be able to insert an unlimited number of ads – this one did the trick.
If I need to track adsense ads for individual pages I will set up URL channels for each page within adsense admin – manage ads->channels->url channels. Crude but quick and effective for those looking for a simple solution to this.
Great!
Can’t wait to see the results.
I saw that hubpages are having both the msn ads and the google ads in the same page – is that ok?They were doing a big mistake earlier too – had more than 3 adsense ad units[its now changed] in one single hub. They should be careful while placing the ads.
Ricky they’re a premium advertiser! They can put more ads than us commoners. When you have a premium account you can use like 7 ads per page. Crazy!
Wow I can see how getting all your Adsense organized would be a project all by itself.
I was looking into OpenX but not sure it is what I am looking for, can someone help? I have 5 websites that I would like to place advertising on from other webmasters and have them make their own accounts to get the advertising. I have looked into AdQuick as well and think it might be a good one so that I have full control over everything.
Also I use word press for all my sites, so I am wondering if this would all work.
Looking forward to see how this al pans out. Must say though, every man and his dog is now hanging out at Hub Pages, Its become the new Squidoo. I can just see a massive G Slap happening shortly..lol
Wow, I was getting worried that you were going to stop posting when I didn’t see any posts on my feedreader for a long time. I’m glad you kept on posting.
BTW: seems like a really great idea, I can’t wait to see the results.
Best of luck with your experiment Court! I’m sure you’ll slam out some homerun earnings from it. I’m keen on trying something similar on a few of my own sites in the future.
Cheers
Ben
Hi Guys, nice thing you are doing here.
It will be interesting, and will prove a point if you succeed.
I hope I can have some success with http://www.mark-lawton.com where I am fine tuning it, and having one post show per page, with proper URL permalinks.
Time to get my backlinks on now ASAP when I can get some!
Long way to go yet, but “you never know ’til you have a go!”
Thanks,
Mark Lawton
