Posturown.com – Build Your Online Authority

Internet marketers and bloggers are always trying to do what they can to build their online authority. I can still remember quite well when I started blogging. It was hard to find places where I could publish my work. In the end, publishing my work on other sites was one of the things that best helped me to establish myself in the blogging world.

No matter what type of site you have, it will always help to get published. You gain exposure to groups of people that you don’t know, and you also get extra love from the search engines.

Last week I was notified by a good friend of mine (RT Cunningham) that he has a new site where people can publish their work. You can find the site at Posturown.com. The site was created with three purposes in mind:

  • To help you establish yourself as an online authority in any topic you choose.
  • To help you promote other relevant websites, including your own.
  • To help you (and of course, RT) in making money with your articles — eventually.

If you’re interested in getting published on Posturown, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Author Requirements. Users are required to use original articles that cover topics that they know about. Content generators and spinners are prohibited.

Knowing RT, I can tell you that this will be a useful service. He cares a lot about quality control and that’s the most important aspect of this type of site. I’m really looking forward to seeing how well this site does. I think it’s going to be a winner and it will certainly help you to gain more exposure to your sites.

  1. Seems like Hupages or Squidoo will do you better. But he’s getting a lot of attention as I have read about his site in a number of different places.

  2. I checked out RT’s site and I have to say I’m impressed.I actually stuck around and read a few of the articles. A lot of the article directories publish anything that is submitted and so they are only good for a low level back link. Post Your Own Articles is high quality and should become a trusted authority site in no time. I’ll definitely be signing up.

I visited the site and it looks like a winner! But whatever you do, don’t click on the blog directory link in the blogroll… haha Wait 5 seconds and you will be redirected to a bunch of sexy Thai ladies haha. What’s up with that?

    • That blog directory is a legit site. The site that take over is using a frame buster and that’s why it redirects (and it’s because it’s the blog of the day for 24 hours). I’m surprised the blog directory admin hasn’t removed that site.

  4. Hey Court,

PostUrOwn.com is a great site and I will definitely be using it as a resource, Ty for the heads up. I have to tell you that I am impressed with your keyword course and I love the articles on your blog. You and Mark are doing a great service here. I wish more online newbies would find this site before they found the merry-go-round of lies on traffic exchanges and 2×2 matrix plans. You know what I mean :(

This is by far some of the best information I have found and I read it every day. Have a blessed evening.

    Haha cbstogner, nice catch :)

You know, I am trying to get some work done around here! haha

  7. I will look into it, so far I use hub, squidoo and infobarrel, not sure about yet another one. Do you know if he allows also articles in other languages? So far only Squidoo allows that and I am looking for similar sites to do a bit promotion for my German sites ;-) SY

  8. Great new site, will be having a more detailed look and seeing how I can use it. Already on hubpages too, so think it is good to take advantage of all teh new sites and tools available

  9. Don’t forget about mine Court. I set somehting similar up last week on a PR3 site and it is already ranking pretty well for articles submitted.

The more sites like this where there is original content the better. It all adds up to getting more quality backlinks from a variety of sources.

  10. Hey, looks like a nice site. I already signed up. Dave, what is your site? I’d be interested in that one too. Sue

  11. What would be the advantage of posting articles to posturown, which looks like a PR 0 site, when you can post articles on i.e. ezinearticles, a PR 7 site?

    • More important then the PR of the frontpage is the pr of the single article page. Also ezine started out with no PR at all, like every other site on the internet. As for why posting on posturown, or any other site for that matter, it is simply a additional place to write your own backlinks. It is not about A or B, it is about A and B, just my 2cents, SY

    • Ezinearticles didn’t start out with a PR 7 — what if people didn’t post to it because of that? How long would it have lasted?

Authority sites do not need to have PageRank to be effective. Please ignore it unless you intend to sell it in the form of paid links. How long it takes to become an authority site relies on the continuous addition of quality content and age and PR isn’t in the equation at all.

  12. Looks like a promising idea. Thanks for the tip!

  13. Sue,

I see you found the site. Nice articles. RT I do agree with you about Page Rank but do you not find that usually when sites are seen as an authority they normally have a decent PR as well?

In my limited experience this is the case but then conversely PR does not always mean good traffic.

What I have found is that within a month or so that lots of content daily (of good quality) can see the traffic levels and the SERPS positions of the content go through the roof. I guess that is partly why Court was going for 100 articles on a site in a short space of time. at least in part. That is why sites that moderate multi user content rank well (Ezine). Have you seen how badly a lot of article sites now rank, because they have been spammed to death. It’s why Infobarrel and the like now do so well.

    • Actually no, Dave. They don’t correlate. I’ve seen a fair share of PR 2 sites, with 0 PR inner pages that are considered authority sites. One of the number one MMO sites, Grizzly’s blog, is a PR 2 with a lot of 0 pages and that’s only one example.

Your last paragraph is correct. Multi-author sites without moderation are going to get sacked by Google and the moderated sites will be rewarded. The Google spam team has made it clear they will give great weight to editorial links (in-post content) while pretty much nuking everthing else.

  14. Thanks for the heads up. I’m always looking for additional sources of high quality backlinks (especially that I control!) I’ve been thinking about starting one just like it.

  15. Nice! I would take my time to contribute to his site once I got a free time to do so. I really would like my blog site to be known. After all, even my blog has great contents, if no marketing was done, then the content would be left useless.

  16. RT,
I was following your Connect Content, and now Posturown. Read your Bio. I was born and finished college in PI, left in ‘82 and since then lived in CA. Your timing was very good. I mean you sold your home before the Real Estate crash. A lot of us lost our homes and equity, so in a way, we can’t do what you just did, bring your $ and build your home… and best of all, your home is mortgage free.

I’m looking into “earn online” business and bumped into your article about “Living in the Philippines”, then checked out TKA. I will sign up under you and plan on a niche related to PI and USA. Enjoy your debt free life there!!!!!

  17. This sounds a lot like qondio. Seems like another good resource to build some autority and generate targeted traffic to your site.

  18. Thanks for the information… great post.

  19. Great. Nice site. I will try this one.

  20. I signed up for it and i found it very difficult to even find out where to go to post an article. Any help?
